turn around

when i took a step back

and looked honestly at the progress of my nomadic nights slouch

i could see it was a  good idea gone sideways.

the three very differently textured yarns

that i had chosen so they would

pop individually,

blended together until the personality of each fiber was lost.

ugh. time for plan b.

i lovingly rewound the original skeins for another day,IMG_8829crop

and began again

with three

muted shades of

julie asselin’s ankara.

this is big, squishy

bulky at its

best.

still enjoying holly‘s pattern and now i’m so liking

the finished hat as well.IMG_8810crop

i guess that since

the snow

refuses to hear

my pitiful cries and stop,

that i might get quite a bit of

wear out of my new

slouch.

  1. I very much like the shape of this hat. The sides come down to cover ears fully, the lack of which can be the downfall of a hat in cold climates. I love your colour choices too! It’s very becoming on you, Tal. Will it remain yours…….. 🙂

    • ha. my 15 yr old took the pics of me in the hat and then promptly absconded with it. i would have protested but 1. it would be fun to knit another one and 2. at zero degrees she’s finally wearing a down filled vest (no coat), so if she’ll wear a hat, it’s hard to say ‘no’. smile.

      • You have to choose your battles! 🙂 I knew someone would sweep up that gorgeous hat. Girl has great taste!
