a season

tomorrow i will send a gorgeous  ivory wedding dress, with just a slice of turquiose and gold sari peeking out, to it’s intended bride.  this will be the last wedding dress that i will alter or create in the foreseeable future.

i am choosing this and it is good.

still, it is another change.

i will miss the anticipation, the personalities, and the beauty

of the brides and their weddings.

i will not miss trying to keep expensive fabrics,  sharp pins & even sharper shears

far enough away from my kids to keep them all safe.

and it does leave more time for other things.

you know i have a queue of patiently waiting ‘other things’ all lined up.

‘a season’ taken from 3:1 of ecclesiastes.
