suspension of disbelief

“if i wear them, it will come.”

this was my 7 yr old’s philosophical argument for why she should be allowed

to wear these today.

did i mention that although we had temps in the mid 50’s yesterday,

that it’s honestly snowing today?  yup.

and the ‘it’ she is referring to is spring.

i said, ‘not today, baby.  it’s snowing.’

but, i so admire her pluck

and am happy to breathe in deeply all the hope for spring that she throws my way.

‘hope’ taken from 5:16 of job.

  1. I hope your little one gets to wear those pretty crocs soon! We had a major snowfall yesterday and finished shovelling out this morning. There’s still the back deck to do. Tomorrow. Most here are tired of winter too, sweet girl!! We’ll keep hoping it’s croc weather soooooon!! 🙂

    • me, too. ready for spring. wow to so much more snow. we had a new 1″ yesterday and i felt a little sad. i long for the sun to feel warm and the green things to start to grow…

      • The sun is warm here and it is definitely shining closer to our part of the earth. 🙂 It has been busy today melting the huge mounds of snow we got on Wednesday. I’m hoping my tulips are not peeking out under the snow yet! There’s a huge pile of it where it drifted into my garden. 🙂 I don’t see buds on the trees yet, but the sparrow family is back, investigating the bird house they’ve lived in the past three years. Yay! I love the spunky little sparrows! John put up two more bird houses this year, so hopefully we’ll see more little families being raised in them. Happy day to you, Tal!
